3 Tips for Writing Engaging Social Media Captions

So you’ve got your great content ideas, your awesome offer, and your Organic/paid Social media strategy-… Now what?

How do you elevate the content you are making?

How do you get your audience to engage with your brand?

The answer is simple: Captions.

Writing stellar social media captions to pair with your content is what can push a post from being good to being amazing.

Here are our top 3 tips for Writing Engaging Social Media Captions.

Add Value

Just like you should be doing in the content itself, you should be adding value to your caption.

That means including the details you were unable to elaborate on in the post itself. This content should have an element of what we like to call “Edutainment” (get it? It’s like education and entertainment).

Edutainment content should always educate your audience about something in a fun way. Sometimes, this is just being humorous and fun. You can do this by adding emojis and keeping your language light and casual.

Have fun with it and overall just be yourself— someone who wants to impact their community for the better.

When you tell a story in this way, it makes your brand seem more authentic and less like a disconnected entity. Your audience can respond naturally as if you were face to face- human to human. This leads me to our next point.

Encourage a Dialogue

By framing yourself as more than just a company, you allow the audience to have an easier time engaging with you. Take advantage of that!

This means asking questions and getting to know your leads or prospects on an individual level.

Ask them their thoughts and opinions about your content’s subject matter.

Is your post about Martial Arts forms? Ask “What’s your favorite form?” Or “Which forms have you seen before?”

Have a Call to Action

Now I am sure you have heard of a Call to Action before, but be sure to understand that your Call to Action should not always a hard sell. In social media posts, it should be treated as a “next step” for your audience to engage with your brand.

This means that, yes, if your content is informing your audience about a sale your school is running then you should be saying “buy here”.

However, if your school’s post is about a student who went from shy to confident, then maybe it should be “learn more about how martial arts helps builds confidence here”.

Lead your audience to the next natural step with information and resources that further their relationship with your brand.

Not all posts should feel like a hard sell. If it does, it may come across as spam and you may lose your audience’s interest.

Bring it all together

Then we switch it up so we can shine a light on our audience by connecting and empathizing (“ One of the skills that every Martial Arts School Owner (and Entrepreneur in general) needs to acquire is the skill set to SELL. 💰💰

And in order to SELL, you’ve got to start with a great offer.

By relating we are speaking directly to our audience and further building that connection.
